"If you would understand this secret, you must first understand
the distinction between training an animal and educating one.
Trained animals are relatively easy to turn out. All that is required is a book of instructions, a certain amount of bluff and bluster, something to use for threatening and punishing purposes, and of course the animal.
Educating an animal, on the other hand, demands keen intelligence, integrity, imagination, and the gentle touch, mentally, vocally, and physically."
J. Allen Boone, Kinship With All Life
Unicorn Farts is a short book, an introduction to clicker training and my crazy ideas.
The Evolving Equestrian is a more indepth look at horse training and our individual evolution as horse people. The different styles we move through as we strive to seek lightness and a rewarding relationship with our equine friends. With lessons on our emotional control and learning to understand our horse's emotional struggles as well.
Walking the Unicorns Path is a journal. It is for you to write in as you make discoveries in your time with your horse. Prompts to help you think, short pages of information to read and learn, and doodles to help you relax and colour. Each page is a discovery to be made.
Horses will lead you to knowledge, it you will but listen.

Every time I have changed course in my training, it has been to seek a softer way of doing things, one that doesn't
bring out my inner predator.
I have always tried to seek out a softer way because my own tendency is to be loud and aggressive
and I don't like that side of myself.
Gaining control over one's emotional state is
half the job of training the horse.
And the other half is understanding the horse.
And lastly, it is knowing what you need to train.
So here I am after some 35 years of training riders and horses coming to a new step in my evolution as a horse girl.
We are all in our own stage of that evolution and I want to help you get to the best part sooner and with out all the miss steps and guilt about messing up your horses along the way.
Let's eliminate the trial and error and get right to the good stuff.
I offer clinics on my farm near the beautiful town of Smiths Falls with my well schooled clicker trained horses to give you a feel of how it can go. Like a good school master can teach you to ride, a good clicker horse can teach to click.
I also offer clinics off property. It is best to use one horse for two handlers. this gives everyone time to watch and time to do and time to think.
Send me a PM on Facebook and we can set up a date.
